Dietary Aide (Per Diem)

The purpose of the Dietary Aide is to ensure the delivery of healthy, desirable, and cost effective dietary services to patients, staff, and guests of the organization. The Dietary Aide:

  • Politely greets and serves meals to all cafeteria customers; ensures food is placed on the serving line in a timely manner.
  • Cleans work area as necessary or assigned ensuring the dining area is kept clean after and during meal times.
  • Accepts and reconciles deliveries; puts away stock; monitors the use of supplies and notifies supervisor when supplies are limited.
  • Assists the cook and dietary supervisor in food preparation; sets up buffet lines or salad bars.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
