Performs inpatient and outpatient registrations, including collection of necessary demographic and insurance information, Advance Beneficiary Notices, and pre-certification requirements in the outpatient setting. Greets and interviews patients or their family members. Obtain accurate data from patient or family member to ensure prompt and accurate billing and timely reimbursement. Obtains all required patient demographic information and processes data according to procedure. Advises patients on Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance requirements and provisions. Works with other departments to assure a smooth service for patients of the medical center.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1 yr patient registration experience in a hospital or medical office setting required and 1 yr medical records or medical billing experience preferred.
