A self-motivated and compassionate professional, to maintain resources of services available to victims of crimes and create outreach materials. Also creates and facilitates a Victims Advocacy Advisory Committee and completes quarterly reports. You will coordinate with other CVTC and community resources to assist victims, including seeking restitution as needed.Additional
Responsibilities:
You act as an independent advocate for Elder's and/or child(ren)'s best interests for the Tribal Court; investigating, interviewing, and gathering information about each case; properly documenting case notes for submission to the Court and/or are available to participate in court proceedings as requested; and monitoring the case until the Court determines your advocacy responsibilities have been fulfilled.Qualifications, Education &
Experience:
1 to 2 years of experience working in the social services, or another advocacy field is preferred. We are willing to provide training for CNV Tribal citizens. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills; including the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain cooperative relationships and work successfully as a member of a team. Excellent time management, problem-solving and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet sometimes competing deadlines. Superb verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and embrace new or updated software. A Highschool Diploma or GED is required. Certificates and Licenses Required:
A valid Alaska Driver's license is required for this position and the ability to be insured on CVTC's vehicle insurance policy. Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background Check:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
