Experience is preferred but not required in the following categories:
proper restraint of dogs and cats, proper surgical techniques, cleaning/sterilizing surgical instruments and create surgical packs appropriately, properly clean kennels/animal waste/hospital, laundry, ability to assess/observe animals for pain/discomfort, communicate well with team members about patients and in a timely fashion, ability to lift/carry dogs weighing 50
pounds, and able to perform general physical activities (bending, getting on the ground often to help with dogs, standing, walking large dogs).
If you do not have these skills but have a great enthusiasm for the job, we are happy to train you for this position.
Computer and typing skills also very helpful for management software.
This position is full time (40 hours/week).
Pay is dependent on experience (starting around $15-16/hr w/no experience).

- Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals - Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures - Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians - Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment - Perform laboratory tests, such as bloodwork and urinalysis - Take and develop x-rays - Clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment - Provide basic grooming services, such as bathing and nail trimming
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals preferred - Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work well in a team environment - Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately - Physical stamina to handle animals of various sizes and lift heavy objects Note:
