Summary:
Farmersdottir is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Farm Store Assistant to join our team at our vibrant farm stand and retail store Farmersdottir.
As a Farm Store Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our farm store operations.
This position involves various responsibilities, including customer service, flower harvesting, arranging bouquets, and maintaining the farm's appearance through weeding and upkeep.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a positive and cheerful demeanor, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet and assist customers with a friendly and approachable attitude, answering questions, providing information about our products, and ensuring a delightful shopping experience for all visitors.
Flower Harvesting:
Participate in the harvesting of flowers, ensuring the proper selection and handling to maintain the highest quality blooms for sale.
Bouquet Arranging:
Create beautiful and appealing flower arrangements to showcase the variety and beauty of our farm's produce.
Weeding and Farm Maintenance:
Help maintain the farm's appearance by weeding and performing other necessary upkeep tasks to ensure a clean and organized environment.
Product Display:
Assist in setting up and organizing the farm store displays, ensuring the products are presented attractively and aesthetically.
Cash Handling:
Handle transactions accurately and efficiently, processing payments, giving change, and maintaining the cash register.
Inventory Management:
Help with inventory tracking, restocking shelves, and reporting stock levels to the management team.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members, supporting and collaborating with them to achieve shared goals and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
Farm Stand Promotion:
Engage in promoting the farm stand and its products through social media, local community events, and other marketing efforts.
Requirements:
Previous Customer Service
Experience:
Prior experience in a customer-facing role, such as retail or hospitality, is preferred.
Passion for Farming and Flowers:
An interest in farming, flower cultivation, and sustainable agricultural practices is highly desirable.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Attention to Detail:
A keen eye for detail to ensure flower arrangements are well-crafted, and the farm stand is tidy and organized.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with customers and team members in a courteous and professional manner.
Team Player:
Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously within a team environment, contributing positively to the team's success.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work on weekends and during peak seasons, as the farm stand's operation may require.
Plant Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of flowers, gardening, or horticulture would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and maintenance tasks - Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery - Perform general labor tasks such as cleaning, organizing, and repairing structures - Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of livestock or crops - Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Experience:
- Previous experience working on a farm or in a similar agricultural setting is preferred - Knowledge of basic farming practices and equipment operation - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines - Good communication skills in English to effectively interact with team members and supervisors Technical Sales:
